Membership Terms and Conditions

By enrolling as a member of Taeho Martial Arts, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

  1. Eligibility
    1. Membership is available to individuals aged 18 years and over.
    2. Members under 18 must have written consent from a parent or legal guardian.
    3. The parent/guardian accepts responsibility for the minor’s compliance with these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Minimum Membership Term
    1. All memberships require a minimum commitment of three (3) months.
    2. Membership commences on the date of the first scheduled class.
    3. After the initial minimum term, membership continues on an ongoing basis unless cancelled in accordance with Section 8.
  3. Fees & Direct Debit
    1. Membership fees are payable via automatic direct debit every two (2) weeks (fortnightly).
    2. By enrolling, you authorise Taeho Martial Arts and its billing provider to debit your nominated bank account or credit card.
    3. It is your responsibility to ensure sufficient funds are available.
    4. Failed payments may incur dishonour or administration fees.
    5. Outstanding balances must be paid before further participation.
    6. Payments are non-refundable except as required under Australian Consumer Law.
  4. Membership Freeze (Temporary Hold)
    1. Members may request a freeze in writing for medical or compassionate reasons.
    2. Minimum freeze period: 2 weeks.
    3. Maximum freeze period: 8 weeks per calendar year, unless otherwise approved.
    4. Direct debit payments will pause during the approved freeze period.
    5. The minimum membership term will be extended by the duration of the freeze.
  5. Class Attendance
    1. Members may attend classes according to their selected membership plan.
    2. Advance booking may be required.
    3. Class availability may be limited.
    4. Class schedules may change without notice.
  6. Code of Conduct

    Members must:

    • Respect instructors, staff, and fellow members
    • Follow all safety instructions
    • Maintain appropriate uniform and hygiene
    • Refrain from bullying, harassment, or aggressive behavior
  7. Behaviour Termination
    1. Taeho Martial Arts reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership immediately if a member:
      • Breaches these Terms and Conditions
      • Engages in misconduct
      • Endangers others
      • Causes property damage
      • Engages in harassment or abusive behavior
    2. No refund will be provided for termination due to misconduct.
  8. Cancellation
    1. Membership cancellation requires four (4) weeks written notice.
    2. The 4-week notice period must be paid in full.
    3. Cancellation is not permitted during the initial 3-month minimum term unless required by law or approved under exceptional circumstances.
  9. Photo & Media Consent
    1. Members (or parents/guardians) consent to photographs and video recordings during classes and events.
    2. Images may be used for social media, website, and promotional purposes.
    3. Consent may be withdrawn in writing at any time.
  10. Privacy
    1. Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws.
    2. Information will be used for membership administration purposes only.
  11. Amendments

    Taeho Martial Arts reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be communicated via email.

Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk Agreement

Please read carefully before signing.

Acknowledgment of Risk

I acknowledge that participation in taekwondo and martial arts training involves inherent physical risks, including but not limited to:

  • Sprains and strains
  • Fractures
  • Concussions
  • Serious bodily injury
  • Permanent disability
  • Death

I understand that martial arts involves physical contact, dynamic movements, and risk of accidental injury.

Voluntary Assumption of Risk

I voluntarily choose to participate in training and fully assume all risks associated with participation, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Release and Waiver

I release and discharge Taeho Martial Arts, its owners, instructors, coaches, employees, contractors, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising from:

  • Personal injury
  • Property damage
  • Loss
  • Medical expenses

arising out of or connected with my participation.

This release applies except where liability cannot legally be excluded under Australian law.

Medical Declaration

I declare that:

  • I am medically and physically fit to participate.
  • I will inform instructors of any medical condition or injury.
  • I accept full responsibility for monitoring my physical condition.

Indemnity

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Taeho Martial Arts against any claims brought by me or on my behalf arising from participation.

Australian Consumer Law Notice

Nothing in this waiver excludes, restricts, or modifies rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
